Concrete plans; Concrete roads: LS clears pending road projects

Clearing the air on the status and future of about 700 road projects out of total 1339 Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects in India, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the government will clear all pending road and other infrastructure projects by 15th of August. The 12th five year plan relied very heavily on Public private partnership [PPP]. The plan expects about 1 trillion dollars investment through PPP. Unfortunately UPA 2 failed miserably to accelerate the PPP projects. That is why this move by Nitin Gadakri can have a significant impact on the growth engine.
