Congress fighting a lost battle over LoP

Unable to overcome the terrible shock of the crushing defeat at the Lok Sabha polls, the Congress party is desperately trying its luck at yet another seemingly lost battle for the post of Leader of Opposition. So desperate is the party that it has sought the indulgence of even the President of India to prevail upon the BJP government to concede to its illegitimate claim.

However, the past record nails Congress claim at the root. In the period of Congress hegemony between 1952 to 1969, from 1971 to 1977 and from 1980 to 1989, the Congress did not gave the status of leader of opposition to leaderof any party. They even did not care to recognise any group as opposition group. Now it is getting paid in its own terms.
